NDC Training and Professional Certification

NDC helps communities build self-sustaining development finance capacity through training leading to professional certification. NDC created the first training program designed solely for economic, housing and community development practitioners four decades ago. Since then, we have trained more than 55,000 individuals in the art and science of development finance.

NDC offers 2 and 3-day training courses that provide timely instruction on specific financing tools and development strategies. The Citi Foundation Invests in Main Street

2010 Capacity Building Grant Furthers the Foundation's Support of CDCs and Their Work in Communities Across the Country

For more than a decade, the Citi Foundation has partnered with NDC to provide training to community development corporations, building their capacity to better serve local low- and moderate-income residents. That tradition continues in 2010 with an ambitious schedule of 20 development finance training courses.

In the wake of the devastating hurricane season of 2005 NDC launched a Hurricane Recovery Initiative, offering at little or no cost financial and technical resources to communities in the Gulf facing the massive task of completely rebuilding themselves. As part of that effort, NDC teamed up with the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) to offer NDC’s Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) Certification Program in Hattiesburg.
